SAM FINDLEY GUIDO (THEY / HE)
Birth doula, postpartum doula, disability doula, gender doula
I’m Sam and I am a trans disabled careworker. I believe in the power of being a presence during transitions such a through pregnancy, birth and other releases from pregnancy, gender, and ability status. What I mean specifically is that I believe in the power of being a sounding board for clients, being an advocate for and alongside clients, and ultimately just being in the corner of my clients. I love to show up in the ways that feel most comfortable and authentic to your experience, and as your doula, I care immensely about the relationship formed between us and your families or communities. I want to do everything in my power to help you feel the most satisfaction with your journey.
I am a multi-disciplinary scholar with a degree in music and women’s and gender studies from UW-Whitewater. I understand the interconnectedness between the many forces that oppress us and have experience navigating them accordingly as well as serving as an advocate for others navigating them. When I am not working, I’m reading, singing, and playing with my 2 year old. I love art and the act of creation and believe in the power of play as well for both children and adults alike!
